About Banger Bros

Our Story

Visiting Banger Brothers should be one of life’s great palatable pleasures. Our style is instantly recognisable yet tantalisingly indefinable - mixing old with new, contemporary with classic, glamour with practicality, wit with sobriety. Combining world class design, innovative food and friendly, knowledgeable service, we aim to be the best fast food takeaway in the world.

Banger Brothers, founded by renowned chef and entrepreneur Julian Dyer, opened on 16th July 2007 in Portobello, London. Julian travelled across Europe finding inspiration from gastronomic traditions in pursuit of a dream, to establish a quality take away that would serve customers with something that appealed to everyone yet reflected the broad culinary traditions in European cuisine. The ‘sausage’ was the perfect tool to achieve this both in its simplicity and form.

The premises at 225A Portobello   Road, the site of the very first Banger Brothers, seemed the right place to launch the ‘sausage sensation’.

Thus the first Banger Brothers was born - the philosophy being to serve hot gourmet food with a fast and friendly service. The shop offers a selection of sausages, both traditional as well as contemporary, along side freshly prepared salads and Belgian Chips, presented with wit and imagination, that inspires the taste buds.

Here are some of the quotes taken from our first customer comments book;

“Bangertastic!”

“Unbelivable quality, very impressed, finger licking!”

“What a place! Very original…. Excellent food, excellent service”

“28 years of living in this area…about bl**dy time you can get a decent hotdog!”.
